Fall Newsletter 2017

Here is the latest issue of the NJMLS newsletter. It has also been emailed to you in a more mobile-friendly version.  Enjoy!

New! Mobile Friendly Reports

Your clients may now view select customer reports in a mobile friendly version when accessing them from a smart phone or tablet:

  • Customer Report
  • Customer Report with Brief Tax
  • Customer Report with Brief Tax and History
These mobile friendly reports make it easier for your clients to view the listings you send to them:
  • Easier to read and see photos – no more pinching and zooming to see information
  • Extra features – view multiple listings on a map and listing photos in a gallery
  • Tab to view tax and history information when these report types are sent
  • View and print the original Customer Report format by clicking on “Printable Report”
When selecting the report type to email, an asterisk (*) denotes which reports will display in the mobile friendly version.  In the Sent Email Log, a link to “View” will appear next to these emails letting you see what your client sees. 
 

Prospecting:  Immediate Alerts

You now have the option to send your Prospects immediate email alerts so they will be notified almost instantly when new listings that match specified search criteria come on the market.  This convenient new Prospect enhancement gives you a real advantage in servicing your customers by getting listing information to them first. It’s best to use this new option selectively, with Prospects that have very specific search criteria.

When setting up a new Prospect, the interval field will now default to Immediate (all previous interval options are still available). To change an existing Prospect, click on the edit button (E) and change the interval field to Immediate then save your change.

NJMLS Membership Continues to Grow

The NJMLS has seen a 6.5% increase in overall membership growth from 2016 to 2017, and a 37% increase since 2012.  It is interesting to note that this increase is spread over both our required market area counties, as well as several outside of that group:


 

Coming Soon:  New User Interface

We will soon be releasing a new, responsive user interface for XL Paragon.  This responsive design will be formatted to accommodate your work view no matter what hardware you’re using, including your mobile device!  This means you’ll be able to accomplish all the work you currently do on your computer or laptop, such as accessing your hotsheets, a saved search, your contacts, or editing a listing, on your tablet or phone.  No need to pinch, zoom or swipe from side to side because this mobile-friendly view will accommodate the device you’re using.

Circle of Excellence

It’s hard to believe that we’re in the last quarter of 2017. That means it is time to start thinking about the Circle of Excellence report.  This tool, found in the XL Paragon Stats menu, simplifies the process of compiling what you need to qualify for this distinction.  Your report will consist of a list of your closed transactions with details that include the value of the sale towards your Circle of Excellence status.

Our Circle of Excellence Report aligns closely with the sections of the application used for submission. To see it, select Search/Print Award applications II and III.
 
This version includes:

  • A checkbox to easily print listing reports
  • Two options for Units calculation: Dollar & Unit or Strictly Unit
  • Lease Term
  • Calculation of gross value of rental agreement displays in the Dollar Volume column

This is also a good time to make sure that you’ve checked your inventory to confirm you’re current on reporting closed listings, as well as confirming that any transaction in which you represented the buyer is correctly reported by the listing agent.

Prospect Comments:  Option to Email

Client Connect is the interactive page that your customers link to when they receive Prospect emails.  This interactive page displays properties that match the search criteria that you have set up for them; one of the features of this page is the ability for you and your customer to comment about these listings.  We have made an enhancement to this feature:  you can now elect to have these comments emailed to you.  You will also be able to respond via email (as will your customer) creating a communication string.  The comments will still be available on the Client Connect page and when accessed via the XL Paragon Desktop alert.

Agent Direct Billing in 2018

Earlier this year, the NJMLS directed a survey to our Broker members regarding their preferences about how the NJMLS bills membership dues.  The results of the survey indicated that the overwhelming majority would prefer to have their agents be billed directly for their membership dues.  The Board of Directors approved this change, which will become effective mid-year 2018.  Other NJMLS fees will still be billed to the broker including listing fees and fines. Details will be forthcoming as we get closer to implementing this change.

SupraKEY Billing 

Supra has sent invoices for the 2018 lease year to agents using DisplayKEYs. Anyone who has a DisplayKEY assigned to them as of November 7, 2017 will receive a bill. If you plan on continuing the lease, you must pay Supra in full by December 13, 2017 or risk an interruption in your service.

If you do not plan to keep your DisplayKEY, you must return the key and cradle to the NJMLS by December 13, 2017. If you do not return the equipment by this date, Supra may hold you responsible for the full annual lease fee even if you return the key at a later date.
 
Please note that effective with this billing, Supra has reduced their fees for the DisplayKEY and the eKEY as follows:
 

DisplayKEY Annual Lease Fee:  $149.43
eKEY Basic Monthly Fee:  $16.21
eKEY Professional Monthly Fee:  $22.21
 

If you do not receive your Supra Bill by November 21st, or for more billing information, speak with a Supra Support Specialist at 877-699-6787.
